LabPen Process
Digital Pen & Paper solution that allows your laboratory to have real time access to lab orders, immediately after they are written, for validation and order entry.
PROCESS
1. Client staff uses LabPen to fill out laboratory requisitions.
2. Periodically the practice staff places LabPen into its' Docking Station.
3. The information written on the form is transmitted to the LabPen server.
4. Handwriting recognition is applied to the form fields and check marks are interpreted as data items.
5. Laboratory data entry staff validate the individual fields for accuracy and correct any misinterpreted information.
6. The LabPen validation application flags missing information based on customized rules from the Laboratory processes.
7. Requisitions missing information or containing invalid data can be placed on hold for client services or supervisor interaction.
8. Requisition comments enable form validation tracking.
9. Once the requisition is validated it can be transmitted individually or in batches to the LIS system, awaiting specimen receipt.
